sense of humor

My Dad was a professional photographer.

He was very good with children. In fact he was very good with all subjects. He died of Alzhimers disease in 1998. I found these pictures in the many boxes of pictures he had. They show his patience and great humor. He wrote the balloons on pieces of paper and glued them to the picture. If you can't read them they are as follows...

1. Goleta Jay takes a self portrait....
Wow...Look what I found! A Nikon FM, with no owner in sight...Let's try a self - timer portrait.

2. F/11 at 125 sec should be about right.

3. This close - up lens at 6 inches looks good
4. # ...This self - timer lever is for the birds!

5. CHEEEEEEESE! (click)
6. Hey! Nice head and shoulder shot...Good hair, I mean feather, back lighting...nice catch - light in my eye...Guess that mocking bird chick will sit up and take notice of me now!

Grandma, this is really cool stuff. The last time I was at your place, I was intrigued by the guest room with all the photos... See a shot of the room here: http://tinyurl.com/2mzhn9.

This room, watching great grandfather's last days, and even this post are a powerful reminder to me of the gift of creativity in my family and others.

What an amazing feeling that God has put in us a desire to create with our hands.
